One Skirt, Three Looks

I’ve noticed over the last year that I definitely have some favorite pieces in my wardrobe. They are my “go-to” pieces that are comfortable, easy to style and most importantly, affordable. This black + white stripe maxi skirt is the prime example. The great thing about this skirt is that since it’s long, it keeps my legs warm on cooler days, but it’s not made from material so thick that I can’t rock it during the summer with a tank as well.

Look 1: Maxi Skirt + Chambray Shirt

{Skirt – Target // Tank – Nordstrom // Chambray – Madewell}

I love how simple + easy this look is to throw together. Add a chunky necklace or a fun pair of earrings and you could even jazz it up a little bit. Being a mom of 2 I love putting together outfits that allow me to play on the floor with my kids, run errands, or even grab coffee with a girlfriend. Chambray shirts are really easy to come by + while I got this one at Madewell, I know you can find them at Forever 21, or you could request the new amazing one that Stitch Fix just got in.

Look 2: Maxi Skirt + Sweatshirt

{Maxi – Target // Tank – Nordstrom // Sweatshirt – The Printed Palette}

This is my latest favorite outfit to wear. I’m not going to lie, last week I actually wore it for a couple days in a row. Hey, I figure my kids go to preschool on opposite days that no one will notice. That is except for the school’s director and co-director. I figure if you find something you love and it’s comfy, rock it out.

Look 3: Maxi Skirt + Denim Jacket + Scarf

{Maxi – Target // Tank – Nordstrom // Denim Jacket – JCrew // Scarf}

This might be my favorite look to rock with this maxi skirt. I love that the scarf has a tan + white plaid pattern, but it’s so minimal that it compliments the striped skirt well. Lately it’s been chilly in the mornings and warming up in the afternoon, so this look gives me the option to bundle up when dropping my kiddos off a school and then later in the day I can remove the scarf and still have a cute outfit to finish out my day. I even suggest wearing a long necklace so if you’re out and about and want to remove the scarf you still have your necklace on to complete your look.

Do you have any pieces you’ve tried to put several looks together with? I’d love to hear about them.

    Oh yeah! I do this all the time. I BIG into layering, so I love putting sweaters over my maxi dress (everyone thinks its a dress), and when it gets cooler, I can wear it as a dress. Such a multi-tasker!

    That skirt goes really well with denim! And we all need some pieces that we can wear in different ways–that’s the cheapest way to have a “large” wardrobe!

    I have a black/white patterned maxi skirt that I remix in all kinds of ways. I love taking a piece and finding all the ways I can possibly wear it. I like to get the most bang for my buck out of my clothes, and try to keep a pretty minimal closet full of super-useful pieces.

    I have a navy blue dress that I did a similar 3-look remix with. Needless to say, I love posts like this :)
