Can you believe it’s been almost a year since we started joining each other for coffee on Fridays?
What began as a way for me to share my heart + capture special moments, has turned into one of my favorite days of the week to post.
Having the privilege of hearing what’s on each of your hearts each week and what we would chat about over coffee helps me to feel like I’m not alone in this little virtual space. We’re all trying to be the best we can be with each day that passes.

If we were having coffee today, I would suggest we visit a local coffee shop. I would insist on buying your coffee and we would chit chat while we waited in line. I would order something fancy, like a mocha or something with caramel in it. Then we would find a great corner, put our iPhones away and catch up for a while, just you + me.
If we were having coffee today I would tell you I wanted to have a video to share today, but after spending most of the night up with Brayden, who came down with a bad cold the day after Christmas, all I wanted to do was nap when we got home. And nap I did… for almost 3 hours. I’m praying that Kyle + I can combat this cold because Katelyn had it the week leading up to Christmas and now Bud is sick.
I would tell you that despite the kids being sick our vacation was relaxing. It did also feel like it sped by. Do you ever feel that way? Where you felt at peace and relaxed, yet you look back and realize how much you did? I will say that while I love to travel, there’s nothing like coming home to your own bed.

I would tell you how proud I am of Katelyn. Even though she was getting over being sick, she wanted to go skiing so bad. We had signed her up for Little Bear Camp last year and even though she cried through the whole lesson, she wanted to go back and do it again this year. It’s incredible to watch her strive to accomplish something, even though she had a rough experience with it last year. She even told us she wouldn’t cry… and she didn’t!! This year we decided to sign her up for a private lesson so she could get the one-on-on time with an instructor to learn. My heart swelled as I watched her rocking skiing like a boss from the moment she stepped on the snow! She is so brave and I feel like I could learn so much from her and her determined spirit. We are truly blessed.
If were were having coffee I would tell you that I love snow. I love to look at it, watch it fall from the sky, catch it in my house and run around listening to the sound of it crunching under my feet, but I could never live in it. It takes far too much effort to get ready and bundled up to go outside. I know, I’m such a So Cal city girl. But it sure does look beautiful, doesn’t it?

If we were having coffee I would tell you how much Brayden’s personality has really flourished in the past month. He has so much to say + loves to weigh in on every conversation. He loves hard and is so sensitive. My favorite part of watching him grow is how much he loves Jesus. He loves to sing about Jesus during the day and he can’t sleep without praying first. It truly is amazing seeing Jesus through the eyes of your children. No shame, no compromise, just the simplicity of loving Jesus with your whole heart.

I would also tell you that while I’m “back in the office,” it’s a little bit harder to get back into the swing of things after being forced to relax because everything shuts down during the holidays. It’s a blessing and a curse. So I’m slowly working my way back into a normal work day and I’ve got some big ideas and goals for the blog + biz this year. Did you see that we’re kicking off the new year with $10 off all ad spaces. Use code Take10.
I would also tell you that I’m so excited to share some other new exciting changes coming soon. I’m hoping to share in the next couple of days!!
But enough about me, how are you? If we were enjoying a cup of coffee, what would you tell me?

If you’re joining us for the first time, we love to get together each week and share a cup of coffee as we talk about what’s on our hearts. We encourage, uplift and support one another through the good and bad. I would love for you to join us. Usually you’ll find me vlogging, but today, I’m writing what’s on my heart. Please join us each week and don’t feel pressured to do a video.
If you’re linking up this week, please:
- link directly to your post
- include a link back to my blog so others can join us as well
- go visit some friends for coffee
