8 Tips for Fall Fashion Shopping

I’m so excited!
Our very first Personalize Your Style Event was last week and it went great!
The turnout was great and we got to see and shop the latest trends and fashions at Nordstrom.
The goal of the evening was to get a group of women together for a night or a morning out to learn how to build our wardrobes and shop on a budget for pieces that can be worn in a variety of ways.
We were encouraged to find outfits that we could wear in a variety of ways. For example, an outfit you could wear to church, but then add to it and dress it up for a date night with your hubby.
Stevie, the Stylist Manager at Nordstrom Fashion Island, did an amazing job picking out great outfits to share with us. In fact many of us shopped from the rack of clothes she showed us. With Stevie’s help and the help of other stylists everyone was able to find some new, great pieces for their wardrobe.
Since we got such great tips, I thought I would share 8 Great Wardrobe tips with you.

1. Corduroy is coming back in fashion. A good pair of comfy cords in your closet is great because it can be paired with knit tops, blouses, and sweaters.

2. Having a couple great fall sweaters in your closet is a must. You can pair them with a layer tank or a collared shirt. Throw on a great medallion or chain to complete your outfit.

3. Capes are a great way to dress up your outfit. You can wear either a long sleeve or short sleeve shirt under it. Isn’t this super cute?!

4. A blazer is a must have for your wardrobe. You can pair it with a knit tee, tank or even dress it up with a collared shirt. This blazer has the cutest gathered sleeve cuff and it looks great on!
5. Don’t be afraid to mix your prints. This is the perfect example of how you can mix your prints in a really cute way. You could wear this outfit to work, girls night out, or even a date night. You can even pair this sweater with a tee or collared shirt and this shirt with a blazer or leather jacket.

6. Navy and blue look great together and when paired together can be very slimming. I would have never thought this, but I tried this outfit on and loved it! Very slimming and cute!!

7. Everyone should own a denim jacket. I know you probably all just gave yours to Goodwill and after hearing Stevie talk I was really glad I kept both mine in my closet. This is a great piece that can be paired with almost anything. And when I say almost anything I’m talking about not pairing it with denim jeans.

8. Maxi or High-Low Skirt: A great comfy way skirt to wear almost anywhere. This is seriously a must have for your wardrobe. It’s really cute and comfy on!!

I went to a conference last weekend and wore this outfit and got SO many compliments.
What do you guys think? Such great styles, right?! Wish you had come to the event?
Well don’t worry this even is going to be happening monthly!! I will be announcing our next event very soon!!
Hope to see you there.

Great tips! I own a pair of tan cords & have been on the hunt for more. I love my cords!
